Why the Gulfstream II / IIB Fits Japan

With 3,200 nautical miles of published range, it can fly between Tokyo and destinations such as Shanghai, Guam and Manila, allowing for reserves and routing. Late March into April, when the cherry trees flower, is a crowded time to travel in Japan, so reserve an aircraft early.

Jets of this size usually arrive in Japan at Tokyo’s Haneda or Narita, or at Kansai for Osaka and Kyoto, and private-jet slots at Haneda are scarce, so we often plan Narita as well. Runway needs are calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and we confirm them with the operator before the trip is booked.

How Japan Clients Use the Gulfstream II / IIB

When the passenger list reaches double figures, as it does for executive tours of Asia and many wedding parties, the heavy jet becomes the natural choice.

Tell your advisor the cities on the itinerary, the passenger count and how much everyone is packing, and you will get a straight view on whether this aircraft fits the trip.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
